On May 12, 2015, Ms. Oyunchimeg Purev, Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, visited the Ministry of Justice(MOJ), accompanied by Ms. ALTANTSETSEG Shavriach, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of South Gobi Provincial Prosecutors Office and Mr. OYUNBOLD Baatar, chief of BAYANKHONGOR Provincial Police Office, to promote the exchange of Human rights business between Taiwan and the Committee. The meeting was hosted by Director Lu Wen-Chong from Legal system department of the MOJ.
Mongolian National Human Rights Commission will host Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (Referred to as APF) 20th Annual Meeting and the 3rd Biennial Conference in August 2015. Ms. OYUNCHIMEG Purev said that the promotion of human rights is not easy due to Mongolia covers an area of more than 1.56 million square kilometers. Therefore she is very pleased to see the exchanges of human rights promotion business between Taiwan and Mongolia.
Director Lu said that our country's Chinese version of the initial national report on human rights Covenants (Referred to as ICCPR and ICESCR) was issued in April 2012.
From February 25 to March 1, 2013, our government invited 10 international human rights scholars and experts to participate in the International review meetings which the initial human rights report was reviewed by the experts according to the norms of the United Nations and the status of development of international human rights. Following the initial report, we expect that Chinese and English version of the second national report on ICCPR and ICESCR will be completed in April 2016, and the international meeting for review the second periodic report will be held in January 2017. We are looking forward to jointly promoting the development of human rights in the Asia-Pacific region through having further experience exchanges with the Mongolian National Human Rights Commission on human rights development.
